Winter Solstice

My friends,

I will be having the fire 12-18-21 on the Waccamaw Tribal Grounds starting at sunrise 7:17, then noon and sunset is 5:10 so should start closing prayer at 4:50.

Please let all of our friends and family know that have not been addressed above.

Waccamaw Indian People Solstice Celebration and Food Distribution

Please join us Saturday December 18 for our Winter Solstice Celebration

Reminder, the low temperature in the morning to be around 50 deg. to about 70 later, so dress to be comfortable

The day starts with a Sunrise (7:17 am) Fire Ceremony for those wishing to participate but feel free to come anytime during the day

After the Fire Ceremony, Social time with snacks and drinks

Followed by the Noon Fire Ceremony , after which the fire is open to the public

And then at 1pm, Hot Dog Lunch with sides and desert

Ending with the closing ceremony, the time of which is TBD

Food distribution

We have acquired about 1000 lbs of canned and dried foods for distribution to our

members, friends, and neighbors. If you are in need or know some one in need, please stop by and pick up some items.

This will be ongoing throughout the day is on a first come first served basis until depleted.

We also have some military blankets, backpacks, and boots to distribute
